Windscreen demister vents

Windscreen demister vents
After trying several products to stop the screen demister vents from popping out and not having much success I used a product called Sugru.
This a is a silicone rubber that can be moulded by hand and pushed in to nooks and crannys and it sets when it comes in contact with the air.
Once opened it has to be used, but it does come in small single packs so you don't waste much if you only have one job to do.
It comes in various colours, pack sizes and has a variety of uses.
If kept in the fridge unopened it will last for 18 months or 6 months if kept in the car for emergencies.
I have no affiliation to the company but found the product extremely useful.
The website has various videos and pics of the things people have used it for.
The future needs fixing - the future needs fixing - sugru

Mike, having suffered from the same problem, I tried a few things. Trust me, save yourself a lot of grief and simply get new demister vents (mine were missing the retaining tabs on the one end) and also the retaining clips. I think it cost me $100 USD to get everything for the car. The install took all of 10 minutes. Since then, everything has been rock solid.

Both the X Types I have owned have suffered from the same problem ( passenger side vents) After a lot of unsuccessful attempts at a fix I found the best thing was to pull the vents right out & throw them in the boot ( trunk) . No more buzzing or rattling, & very little effect on ventilation . ( I will get round to a correct fix eventually )
