Default windshield question

Quick question.

My windshield cracked Over the weekend and needs to be replaced. How do I know if I have the heated or standard windshield?

It's a 2002 x type sport.

You can actually see the small wires running through the windscreen for the heated style. if you drive at night and look at a light instead of getting a halo or no halo you get an interesting cross pattern. Also on the a/c control panel next to the defrost button there will be a 3rd and specific button for the front windscreen. This is what i would look for first.

That's what was confusing me. I see the wires in the windshield, but I don't have a third button. Just the 2 large defrost buttons.

Hmmmm.....sounds like you have a really fancy windscreen and no way to use it. Those are really expensive if you have to replace one. If there in no wiring currently available to utilize the heated windshield and you are going to have to come out of pocket to pay for it put in a regular, non-heated, windshield. Anyone else care to chime in?

Insurance should be paying for it, but I just want to make sure to get the right one. I am confused.

Me too. Unless there is another location for turning on the heating element for your windshield on the 2002 I'm not much help.
