oh well. not going to be sold in the states according to leftlanenews.com. I think its too little too late. This car shoulda been redesigned from the ground up years ago. I would love to have a new jag, but i guess it wont be an x-type.
Yeah, it looks nice, but then its an X type
its gonna look nice...lolI cant put my finger on it but it looks more " chunky " somehow, more squat lookin on the road ( in a nice way )
2 quick points I noticed straight away though.
The upper grille...............looks sorta volvoish ( no offence to SoCal and volvo owners in general
) cant quite mput my finger on it, maybe its the type of mesh or just the generall shape? Also, they've modified the lower grille ( why not mesh that up too??....seems kinda cheap to me )
Still looks nice, no real differenc e that jump out at ya though[&:]

It'll be in all other markets in April 2008, at least I thought that's what I read.
EDIT: Nevermind, other UK markets
Oh well, maybe we'll get a baby XF with a turbo and AWD

Do I spy the return of the bumper mounted headlight washers?
I'm not totally sold on the new front end, but it does follow in the footsteps of the new XJ.
However, I'm in LOVE with the possibility of diamond stitched seats. Very Bentley-ish.
The rear end has a little bit of newer S-type in it, but I like it.

The new design is really so nice and outstanding but not a fan of mesh grill .I hope they also have a chrome grill just like we have on the current models
I was going to say the same thing --- the comments from people are pretty harsh. WTF? if they don't like it, fine but no need for comments like:
"As if they think they can put lipstick on a pig and make it work."
Otherwise, I like the freshened look of the new X-Type.

I love the look...not so keen on the lower part of the front bumper think its because it is a little too high off the ground....maybe needs to be a little lower??? I like how its a direct replica to me, of the newer xj! I love the new xj series and this looks very similar...wish they refreshed the rear end a little more and changed the taillights just enough to make them look different from the current one...either way I love it!
It looks exactly like an old X-Type with new bumpers, new mirrors, new trunk lid and some interior alterations. I'm pretty certain you could convert your old X to look just like this.
Though not sure why you would want to, I can't stand those new grilles they are putting on the new Jags with the giant growler face. I think it looks so rediculous.

I think their "redesign" is a step in the wrong direction judging from this photo. I find it amusing that after 7 years this was their big redesign of the X-Type which won't even be seen stateside.
I love the j-gate and look of the j-gate so that would definitely be the thing I wouldn't change if I were to change some things...I like the blinkers on the mirrors though but not the look of the mirrors themselves and I would definitely add the leaper...although people across the pond wouldn't!
Hey arden do you know the reason it isn't on there? If you didn't know the leaper/hood emblems are illegal across the pond. We are one of the only countries that still allow them on the car...

Yea I hear the leaper was the #1 cause of deaths in the UK so they banished them indefinitely. Though, Arden makes a leaper that is technically legal.
I took off my leaper, I like the way it looks without it, at least on my car considering my mods.
I'd throw those mirrors on that X-Type in the garbage. Arden makes a very classy (and rediculously over priced) set of mirrors with signals that really enhance the X's appearance. Too bad Jaguar doesn't have designers as talented on their staff.

Yeah no doubt! Although the similar mirrors they have on the xj look good...just too big and shape on our smaller cars don't appeal as much...some things don't look good downscaled and I don't think they realize that! There was nothing I'd change about the brand new xj I saw the other day that was for sure! The taillights were a beaut too!
Nice facelift yet neat changes however I still prefer chrome grill not the mesh one lol . I do prefer X300 to X350 in regards to the appearance .It looks a Serie II then a modern car [8D][&:]lol
