Worlds Production 1st X type/seminar/pub...
Down at the X type seminar at Castle Bromwich (where they make the new XFType),Birmingham UK last weekend.
Interesting day...
..History
..Talk.
..Problems.
..Future.
..Hooked up 1 or 2 cars (mine included) onto a diagnostic machine
..Q+A's
..Off to pub 1/2hr away for a mini-meet with other Jag owners mainly from the .co.uk forum
The Worlds 1st production X Type (Its the one on the left) was parked beside mine as mine was about to go in and get hooked up on the diagnostic machine.
Same car last year inside:-
The worlds first production X Type diesel estate:-
and last year inside
Then it was off to Hinckley in Leicestershire for a pint of Sneck Lifter..unfortunately it was dark to take pics and I was one of the last ones out of the pub....car parked beside the canal boats
My car was 2nd on the diagnostic machine. The first car threw up dozens of fault codes, mainly as the driver hadnt started the car properly, ie turned the key and it turned over but didnt start as he hadnt held the key long enough.
Then mine went on.I was mainly trying to get rid if the PECU ERR ----b since upgrading to premium sound (had always wanted premium since listening to the estate above last year).
It threw up a lot of codes which I would have been concerned about had the 1st car not thrown up more.Unfortunately the error was not sorted and it needs to go in for more indepth diagnosis, even after telling it it now had a premium system (ie amp) and CD changer (the 6 CD changer was factory fitted but their IDS machine said it wasnt connected?)
One example of fault codes is if one of your tyres has a (slow) puncturethis can throw up a code as that wheel is rotating faster than the other 3 which causes a fault code to be stored!
