Hey folks, yesterday I decided to take another look at my IC when I noticed the color codes per 2002 diagram were reversed. Am I reading this wrong? I looked for 2004 diagram but it didn't have similar diagram for IC is this user error?
closb, a few things to pay attention to. The first being that the plugs are flipped from each other. The top of one is the bottom of hte other. SO, this may have some to do with it. This is where looking on the plugs and finding the little numbers next to the pins may be key to this mis-adventure. I will check my drawing to see if it matches what you have. It may be that you got a bum set of drawings. Granted, it would be interesting if the drawing matches what is in the car.
closb, in my diagrams, I have this same picture for a 2002 car. So, not sure what to tell you. I can't imagine someone reversing the connectors as that would be in general very difficult and not something that you would accidentally.
Thanks bud, so I went and disassembled the plugs. There's a white plug and black plug which matches connectors. Caveat, when you take the tab off, you end up with two black connectors, both 26 - 13 to 13 bottom.
I went in order and was able to match them according to diagram. Problem is, they're completely reversed/switched. Once you take the tab off, you can slide them in to connector housing and they can be reversed.
IC only lights up with them reversed, when I correct them I get nothing. Originally before everything went fubared one of the repeated codes was for IC. I'm wondering if with all the grounds fixed and all the new connectors installed with proper current flowing if that's what caused my CAN to die.
I know the car had previous issues with CAN because engine harnes has newer green yellow twisted pair from junction box to ECM. Today was worst check of all, SDD couldn't read anything.
Took a lot of strength not to light it up and junk the project. Going to try tomorrow with cooler head see if I can get SDD to read, if not looks like the crossed wires may have been the culprit after All.
IC is light up like a Christmas tree.. Notwithstanding, I'm as stubborn as an ox, and am not ready to junk it.
