Steve,

P1647 : ECU HO2 Sensor control malfunction - bank 2 upstream

Other than a circuit fault, I'd think it's likely to be a duff Sensor.

Cheers mate I'm now looking at the connectors on the rear cat will the sensor just unscrew from the cat?? I might give it a clean. I hope im in the right place

Steve,

The description 'just unscrew' hasn't applied to the last few Sensors I've removed. They were b****y tight!

Yeah its s*ds law.....
There is two sensors on the front cat upper (grey plug & lower black plug. Is it the upper one that needs lookin at if cleaning terminals dont work.

It will be.

If the X-Type is similar to the XJ and XK, the wires aren't set to a specific sensor. They are wired up first and then configured using the dealer WDS. Just in case, don't get them mixed up!

both are colour coded so you cant get them mixed up. Its looking like a sensor problem cleaned terminals up re connected but the fault is still there
