Default X-Type 2003 - satnav retrofitting issue

Hallo Everyone,

i am sorry for my bad english...

I changed the navigation from the other car and after connecting all the cabling, it does not communicate with the air conditioning, the radio does not work and the navigation reports that there is no DVD...
From the old car (2004), I used complete wires from the navigation to the green connector, of course I plugged under the back seat..
From the green connector to the screen, I used a cable and connected the extra wire to the backlight, ignition, ground and power..
A DVD and a CD changer are connected in the trunk, the optics are also connected..
Instead of the air conditioning panel, I connected the remote unit..

So why doesn't it communicate with each other ???

Please help..

Welcome to the forums macman,

No problem understanding your English.

Your question has only had 16 Views but 0 Replies so I've moved it from Audio/Visual Electronics to X-Type forum. More members with the same model will see it here.

The Jaguars are money pits thing goes hand in hand with "british electrics" which is a holdover from English people having trouble in a rainy country with positive earth cars that had fabric insulation. It kept the reputation after that changed, after the electrics changed to Bosch, and so on. Its all a game of people parroting stuff.

macmon, try plugging in the A/C plug into the radio and see what happens. The computer system is built around the data lines jumping from one module to the next, with each module only pulling off the information that it needs as it goes by. If you don't have the correct jumpers installed in that data line, then you break the stream of data and not all the modules get what they need.

Are you sure you have the optics connected properly in the correct order?

If so how have you connected them?
