I replaced the reduction band on my 2003 X type transmission. Everything went together well. How do I get the control/TCM in sync with the transmission. This transmission worked good before I worked on it, except for reverse. What is the trick? I can manually set the transmission in park while the shifter is in park and it starts. But when I shift into Reverse the light does not go on until I shift farther, into neutral. And when I shift into drive, it lights up neutral. Cannot light up 4,3 or2 at all. When I return it to park, the shift lever goes into park, without light one up. Then when I check the trany I find it is left in one position short, Reverse. There must be a way. Any suggestions?
Sloppy fit. Not like Jaguar culture - indication of broken reduction band.
1/8th to 3/16 play between reduction band and friction surface. Indication that something is wrong.
