'new' engine series 2, but like last time I can never master the getting the shift stick and selection lever to be tight friends.
stick gives the selector only weak flicks and it doesn't push it into the 5 obviously position you can obtain manual by pushing the lever.
the little square bolt that should affix inside the transmission tunnel has no home either on the tunnel wall or on the gear box itself. I have looked very carefully. i wonder if a piece is missing off the body of the gearbox maybe, without the bolt affixed the cable won't be rigid enough to select gears.

most forward position, assume to be PARK




most backward position, assume to be 1/2

 

still not sure on this one, but suspect the bolt connector on the transmission might be missing, cannot see it
