can some 1 help me my x type is making a funny sound when i put my foot down , it sounds like its pulling air in or loosing air ,and its smoking a lot when gets warm also my temp gose up when i accolarate but only to half way , iv still got full power in the car but she is startin to use diesel a bit more than normal , the car has been servised not so long ago and nothing was found ,

 

Could be a split seam in the turbo intercooler or a leaking intercooler line. If it's hissing when you put the pedal to the metal, the turbo is forcing air out of the leak causing the noise. The ECU may be overcompensating with too much fuel due to the lower manifold pressures, which would cause the smoking and excessive fuel use. Does the your X-type have a boost gauge in the dash? If so, try to get info on the correct pressure and compare it to what you're seeing. I'll bet yours is low. Good luck.
