My jaguar x type 07, Nav screen went blank , blowing hot air from top dash board and showing. Code "ext 50 51". Cd working fine but temperature and other bottons not working. I visited jaguar dealership and said its module problem that will cost 1500pd. But all working fine before I slot a wrong map DVD last week for upgrade. Any help will be appreciate. Thanks

 

I'm sorry to hear that. I actually had the same problem last week on my '07 X-type. I attempted to use a new update disc to correct the problem, but the unit remained unresponsive. What I did was I purchased a used NAV unit (which is actually the DVD drive that the disc goes into in the trunk) from Ebay for approx $300. - Still expensive, but not nearly as bad as the dealer.
- Be sure to purchase a unit that corresponds to your car year
Installation is easy.
1. Pull back the carpeting on the left side of the trunk
2. Use the appropriate Torx screwdriver to remove the four screws securing the drive in place
3. Slide out the drive and disconnect the five cables connecting it to the car
4. Connect cables and screw in new drive
5. Turn on the ignition and your screen should be back to life!
6. Insert your map DVD disc
