Hey Everyone

I am getting 3 different codes from my newly acquired Jag. Of course the local guy can't tell me what they are for since Jag has their own codes to make things difficult. But was hoping the gurus here can help out. The codes I am getting are:

C1175- getting 2 of them
P1000
P1603

From the research I have done, the C1175 is for the speed sensors for the rear wheels which would explain why I am getting two codes for that. Am I right or wrong? And if I am right, I am assuming thats a good reason why my ABS light is on. Correct?

Please let me know if you know what any of these codes mean. Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

C1175 is the left rear wheel speed sensor having issues. In a lot of cases, you are looking at either a bad sensor or more commonly the sensor ring inside the bearing will rust and break into pieces. If you remove the rim and then pull the sensor out, you should be able to look down the hole and see if you spot some teeth at the bottom of the hole. No teeth, you need a new hub assembly for the left rear wheel. If you see teeth, then you should probably replace the ABS speed sensor.

Once in awhile, the wiring to the ABS sensor will fail, leading to the signal not making it from the ABS sensor to the ABS computer. IF you want to check the sensor, let me know. It is easy to do. You just need a large piece of metal (like a good size screw driver) and an analog multimeter.

 

So that code is specific to that wheel? Not sure why I am getting two of them. Figured it was 1 for each tire, but based on your response I am assuming that is not true.
