Sooo… Apparently my 04 is somewhat of a unicorn - when I turn on the ignition, I always get a spoken greeting - initially it was a very nice British (speaking English) male voice (he said something welcome, or hello I don't remember exactly), but after removing and reinstalling the radio (to add in the JagBT bluetooth module) it’s now a female Asian (some Asian language, I don’t know what I’m just assuming Chinese) voice. Neither the Owner’s manual or the Audio handbook mention this at all. I don’t care about the gender of the voice but I only speak/understand English so this is a problem for me (2004 USA model, non-touchscreen) After posting about this on a Facebook page for the car, I've found out that mine seems to be the only one that does this, anyone have any info on it? Or have any idea how I change the spoken language from the car when it starts back to British English? And yes, this is absolutely the factory radio still in the car. Will try to post a video of what it does now.
