I am attempting to replace the driver's side dip beam bulb. My problem is when attempting to remove old bulb, the base of the bulb broke off in the socket. Any good ideas on how to get the remnamts out of the socket so I can replace the bulb?

 

New socket will be required. There is a wealth of knowledge in past threads about this very subject.

 

When the X-Types were young we got a tech advisory for a repair to the melted headlamp bulb connector.

Thanks for the information. Looks like they did away with the socket itself and just replaced with pigtails. I appreciate the help.
