Default X Type Parking Module last 2 Letters - AD, BG etc

Hi

I have an 08 2.2 Estate which has a parking module fault. There's a long beep when put into reveres and then it goes off. Looking at the module part number it reads 4X43-15K866-BG . . . . I have seen lot's of Modules with -AD and -BC etc at the end of the number. . are these compatible?

Any help would be gratefully received

Thank you

A guy off ebay just sent this info

Hi, AA is the Suffix - information on Edition & Revision

AA would indicate the 1st production of an item, its original design
Second letter change to AB, AC, etc indicates the items design has been changed, B = 1st revision, C = 2nd revision and so on, same part with the same function
First letter change to BA, CA, etc indicates a part with the same function as AA, but slightly different in manufacture or (possibly manufacturer, confirmation req)
Both letter change to BB, BC, etc is a mix of the 2 previous points
Conclusion is it may work but would be better to get the same letters as maybe a later design
Regards, Alan

PRETTY GOOD

Have ordered a replacement recently. Spares giy told me that all the " A " suffixes are for cars with only rear sensors and " B " suffixes for front and rear. He also said that the second numbers are interchangeable and a " BC" suffix will replace a "BG" fine for example..Think the second letter refers to year of manufacture..
The "B" ones have 3 plugs on them, not sure on the " A".
Hope this helps.

4X43-15K866-BG
the prefix 4X43 means X400 (=X-type)
The base number 15K866 apparently means parking aid
and yes: The second letter of the suffix are always updated versions - it starts with A, then B and so on. It can also happen that a release with the second letter A was authorised, but then they figured that it is faulty, it was never ever released to the public, and they then released the update with the second letter B.
And yes, the first letter of the suffix would be a different variant - I am sure that when checking the P/N of exterior mirrors one will find that there is a first suffix letter A and a first suffix letter B: One would be the mirror for the left side, the other for the right side.
A third letter of the suffix (which does not apply here) would be a colour-code, and a W is used there, if the part is not yet painted.

Which means in your case, don't buy anything with an A as first suffix letter.
And do you really want to have an annoying thing that beeps at you all the time? Pulling the plug to make it shut up is not an option?
