X Type Premium audio upgrade (pics)....
I dropped the Sub/shelf two 6.5 but only one is actual sub, other is radiator. I see the small amp, didn't bother unscrewing shelf/box nothing really to see. Not going to worry anymore about DSP am currious what you think about me switching stock sub/radiator for (two) Kicker 6.5 Midbass subs?
You should be able to drop any 6.5 midbass sub in that spot providing the depth ot the speaker does not go beyond 3". Now the only remaining issue is: are you using the stock sub amp, if so I can't tell you how that amp will feel about the sub. If going after market then you will have no issues at all.
Hi Greenhornet
The premium system pre 2004 has a sub and integrated amp in the rear parcel shel the premium system post 2004 has 2 subs in the parcel shelf and a seperate amp beside the CD changer in the trunk
Maybe from what you are saying the pre 2004 premium system doesnt have DSP which I wouldnt have believed before you mentiomed your sysytem doesnt have it????
Ive sent you a PM

Seems like many variations but now I'm not 100% sure, I dropped the box to inspect the speakers and wiring but with the box not in the car right now the 10" sub I put in the trunk sounds excellant with nothing there to muffle the sound I'm not sure if I want to put the 6.5 subs back in the car.
Someone in the Forum maybe U.K. forum I can't remember, posted a note on which component set he recommended but did not recommend the Polk DB series, does anyone remember that article or member please direct me I have to know why he did not like the DB series but rather the MM series.

Hate to rock the boat, but there are some things I have to point out. Crossover in the door is a big no no. Moisture will corrode the terminals on the crossover in time, then you'll have nice speakers with a destroyed crossover. Second, a factory amp should never power an aftermarket sub. You don't have to crank the volume to see clipping with an oscilloscope, clipping blows subs. It's a very clean and well thought out install, just a few oversights.
I found out at a later date that the sub already has the crossovers built in so arent reqd in the doors anyway, maybe this is why I had a PECU..B error after the install that never got sorted unless the amp was disconnected.

Re the wiring harness
I bought the wiring harness from x-dave on the uk forum. He made it.He hasnt posted on their for a while and said it was taking too long to make them but I think he may have posted intructions on their to help people making thier own??
Re the seats
They were the main reason for buying the car...the fact that it was a 3.0 manual was a plus too!
