Default X-Type Rear Wheel Bearing Replacement

I have a '05 X-Type 2.5 manual tranny. What tools will I need to remove and install the Rear Wheel Bearings? And should I replace the entire hub assembly or is there a less expensive way to go?

Complete hub assembly is the way to go. It is not cost effective to attempt stripping the old assembly.
Once the wheel, caliper and disc are off, you'll need a hub puller to get the unit off the driveshaft and a good set of torx sockets to undo the 4 bolts holding it in place. Maybe different in the USA but when I did mine the bolts were well rusted and due to rust issues Jaguar have actually changed the design from internal torx to external torx. You will need 4 new bolts although my kit came with a set.
Also a big socket (possibly 36mm) to undo the hub nut.

Hi just did mine after a collision with a kurb I found absolutely dosing them with a good penotrating oil G85 is a good one better than Wd40, make sure ur torx bit fits tight and bfore attempting to undo give the end of the bit a sharp few taps with a hammer, this help displace the corrosion. If the torx bit does slip use an allan key bit, but one that you will have to drive in with force. Thats how I had to do mine in the end hope helps good luck
