Default X-type sat nav "reading disc" forever

Hello,
I have got built in sat nav in x type 2001, but when I put disc in I get messsage on the screen "reading disc". I can wait 30 minutes and it will still be reading disc. I have tried to take sat nav module apart and cleaned laser, checked all connections and everything seems to be ok. Recently I have digged out all previous invoices for repairs and services and found one service when mechanic picked up sat nav module fault, but previous owner didn't choose this option to be repaired. (don't blame him, thay said "module faulty, replacing with new one £1300). I'm just thinking if there is any common problems with these that can be possibly fixed cheaper way?
Please help!
Many thanks,
Chris.

Default problem solved!!!!!!

Just want to give you guys an update, my problem is finally solved, but please be aware of Jaguar dealers if you ever intend to use them. I took it to Jaguar for inspection of the sat nav, which was always displaying message "reading disc, please wait" and when i bought the car, it had land rover sat nav disc in it, so i thought it's ok. After investigation dealers said that navigation module in the boot is faulty and needs replacing for only £1300!!! Obviously I said "NO" and came back home and start looking for threads on this forum. I found details of maps that can be downloaded and recorded onto dvd and I have followed all steps, downloaded ford sat nav disc 2009, burned it onto dvd and....my sat nav works perfectly!!! Makes me wonder how jaguar mechanics investigated that my module is faulty and needs replacing...they haven't even touched it, just saw message "reading disc" and decided to bill the owner £1300! It's shocking!!!
Thank you all!
