X-Type Sho
I was reading my Road and Track the other day and they had a comparison of the latest Evo and the Taurus SHO. Couldn't help but think that if Ford would have kept Jaguar if the SHO drivetrain could have been incorporated into the X. 3.5 liter twin turbo V6, 365HP, AWD and 0-6 in the low 5s....and that is stock!!. Probably would have been more reliable than our transfer cases and so much more powerful. I know the performance (or lack thereof) has been debated on here ad naseum, but it got in my head and couldn't help myself to post what might have been. OK, I got that out of my system......
Maybe a weekend project for Thermo?????...........

Alfa, not a problem. I am sure I could make it work. Might need to rework the hood a little bit to give me a little bit more clearance, but that could be handled after the fact. I'm sure the twin hickies on the hood would look pretty cool. Oh the ideas you are giving me. I wonder what they would want for the motor, tranny, and transfer case? $15K?

Much more productive than trying to fit 66" wheels on an X. Could probably get it for less than that in another year or so from a junkyard. Someone would probably total one somewhere. Man, if you would take that on I would travel to Maryland to give you a hand for a week! How cool would that look if you could keep it as stock looking as possible. The ultimate sleeper.

I'm not sure the drivetrain would fit... I talked to the Ford rep at the last SHO convention about the size of the SHO vs. the Fusion and how I would rather have had a Fusion with that drivetrain. He kind of winked and said the SHO drivetrain does NOT fit in the Fusion but they might have something else planned.
Now if it were the original 3L Duratec as an ecoboost engine mated to the same AWD setup (weaknesses of the existing drivetrain not withstanding) I think that would be a fantastic combination.
