Default X type wheel studs ???

Hi All ,

Im looking for a couple of wheel studs for a 2002 x type 3.0l sport and also a couple of wheel nuts ...

Does anybody have any spare ones that i could purchase off them or maybe even an old hub thats laying around ...

Or even have any ideas if the mondeo ones fit or the s type ...

Or even a part number if i need to order them from mr jag dealer ....

Accidently snapped one as i was putting my wheel back on after replacing my rear bumper ... AAAAAAaaaaaaargh !!!!!!

Maybe collect if not too far from Leeds / west yorkshire

Kind regards Paul .

Yoiu can get them at PepBoys. Just ask for Ford Contour 2002 model. They are a small-headed 44m length 12x1.5 thread. $1.50 each there.

sorry im not usually as dumb of yank as the previous geographically challenged post would suggest. mondeo studs will work, just ask for those registered in the late 1990's or year 2000. not sure if anything changed, they just stopped trying you sell them here around that time.

Just my bit of (painful) experience: front left side wheel did not want to go and sit square on the hub so I used the wheel lug nuts to pull it in. After what I thought was tight, I let the car down on the ground putting the weight back on. The wheel in fact did not sit square but little off. The weight on the wheel bent one of the studs ever so slightly and I had a whale of time pulling the wheel out then swapping the hub and knuckle.

Lesson learned - make sure the wheel is perfectly flush against the hub otherwise tightening the lugnuts will bend the stud.

If these are the regular chrome nuts for alloys I'm interested in two.
Thanks... Jeff

I would be very interested in getting one set, but what I'm really looking for is the stud not the nut. I was also wondering if the 2002 Ford contour model would work on the 2.5l xtype. If not then does anyone know where I could buy some lug nut studs? Thanks

the best to do it is remove one (there is a notch in back of the rotor allowing you to pull them out) and take it into Pep Boys, O'Reilly, Autozone, NAPA or similar autoparts store. Just give it to the guy there and typically they can find an exact or near exact match. Since these tend to be about $1 each, it also isn't a big deal if you buy a couple until you fin the model you want (assuming you need more than one).

Cool STripped Studs

I'm having the same problems. Instead of buying a new hub assembly for $225 dollars for the front wheel hub assembly, I am going to purchase new wheel studs for $13.00 and have my stripped ones removed and re-weld.That is the best way to save if that's your goal.

Default Replacing wheel studs

is there a way to remove the wheel studs without removing the wheel hub? There isn't even enough space to remove the broken studs! If not how hard is it to remove the whole hub?

Also on Amazon it says that the only wheel stud that works on The Jaguar Xtype is a stud that doesn't have an end on either side. So do I also have to buy a nut for the inside
