Default xtype thoughts and more

well as most of the older members know that i have sold my jag a few months ago back in april. And I have since been on the hunt for a new ride.

I have noticed there are quie a few more xtypes ont eh road or is it just me missing mine too much? thoughts?

Also I would like to say this forum is fantastic, no tother forum comes even close to the help availble and the kindness by the members. on toher forums i see constent 'Are you F**king stupid" or "troll". But just would like to extend a thanks to the members and admins on the forum.

Disco. keep in mind you were part of the experience here. I would say to keep your eyes open for another Jag. You may have just had a lemon. As I am sure you have seen, lots of people have had very few problems with their cars. But, I would also understand if you were a little gun shy too.

It's true, I don't know why it is, mostly I think guys like Thermo, Jim, Jeremy who truly love their cars and are more than willing to jump in and help, sometimes physically, is essential to a successful site. I'm on a bunch of other sites, BMW, Jeep, motorcycles etc but this one is an exception.

On the car front.....'have I got a deal for you'

Wasn't the X Type the most popular Jag ever?

happy to help and be part of the team. btw, I treat all my cars the same and have had most european marques, this one is fun for me because it is the first car I have put on air. so I also like to play dress up with lots of different wheels.

Stu - I reckon you have Jags on your mind so thats all you see...lol

I hope you get whatever car you want, when you want it and its good to you! Should you decide to go for another marque I truly hope you find a forum that gives you the help you need, I'm sure its out there.

On the Jag forum front - thanks on behalf of all here for the kudos you give to us. As said though, please remember you are part ( as we all are ) of what makes this the place it is.
The really cool thing is, I see some members who don't necessarily post about Jags too much, but help out when they can, welcome newbies and make them feel at ease etc. Even some extraordinary guys who no longer own a Jag but still drop by every day or so and add a post or two!

Well, your post also proves this is the most friendly forums ever . I like this X Type Forum a lot too , I believe my most posts are from this section rather than XJs he he

I see X Types all the time. This morning on my run (I run daily) I saw a black X Type, but that's cheating because he lives a few blocks up from me. (There is also a guy with an S Type behind me.) Yesterday while on my way to my kid's school I tucked in behind yet another X Type with this gray haired lady driving it.

I see X Types all the time really.

I see a lot of X-Types, too.

My theory is that upper middle class baby boomer/retired men bought these for their spouses and they ended up not being driven as much (almost like low-to-midrange priced convertibles are treated) and were left in the garage or on their driveways while they cruised around in the larger car or SUV. Hence why we didn't see as many on the road. Now they are getting traded in massively for Prius and similar cars.

I live in a high rise condo. We have 3 X types, 1 XJ, 1 XF and 2 XKs. There are 300 units or so. Where I work there is my X plus an S Type a new XJ and an XK.

I see X Types all over... around here.

In the DC area (as far south as Norfolk, VA), the X-Type is one of the "trendy" cars to own as this area is good for trying to one up their neighbor. Most of it goes in the car and cell phone arenas. I just have to laugh. I've seen a lot of cars that are very nice parked in front of shacks. Just goes to show the thought process of some people. C'est la vie. I see tons of Jags around where I live.

I just recently picked up an 03 S Type at a Toyota dealership for a decent price ($11000 for a topaz/sand 45k mile one owner, Carfax clean, V8 cruiser). Stricken by the Jaguar bug and really reasonable prices, I've been trolling for an X Type. I recently spotted an 05 3.0L dk blue/ivory combo at a Cadillac dealer near me. It's nicely loaded with the Alpine system and Xenons. Asking price is $9600 with 62k on the clock. I'll be stopping by this Saturday for a test drive. I'm finding that off brand dealerships are pricing these cars very reasonable. Potentially, two Jags for just over $20k. I paid more for my new Toyota Solara and it has half the character...now if I can just find a XF for around...
