When I collected my XJL after its last service there was a chap who bought his X351 XJ in for basically the same repairs. I don't recall if they were being done under warranty or not. He did an emergency stop in a 30mph zone to avoid a car that pulled out and despite not hitting anything the bonnet airbags deployed. I guess the ECU logic predicts a likely impact and is a little too cautious (which is probably a good thing - much better than delaying it if you are the unlucky pedestrian).
