Smile 2015 - Jaguar XE Diesel 2.0 R Sport

Hi Guys,

New here. Just decided to ask before committing or making a possible mistake, what everyone's experience are with the 2015 XEs 2.0 Diesels and their overall life time? I have been offered a car with 130k miles for £3,500.

Recent works on the car include:
  • Full service (I assume but I need to ask about the history, etc).
  • New Tyres.
  • New Brake discs and pads.
  • Replacement Windscreen - stone chip.
  • Replaced Front bushes.
  • New Sway bars and drop links.
  • "Electrics overhauled"
  • A/C Recharge
  • DPF Clean (March 2024)
Anyone know whether this is a good deal or the car will last about 5 minutes before major repairs are required and generally how easy it is to work on these cars (my last car was a Mk2 MR2 which was sometimes painful to work on but always doable).

Any help or advice is appreciated!

Thanks,

MG3.

If it's a 2.0 Diesel Ingenium These engines are notorious from timing chain issues to fail which result to engine failures. At 130K miles find out if the timing chain has been replaced. The replacement parts are improved design by JLR to correct the issue. Other than that, I don't see anyting wrong with the engine. Do an OCI of every 5K miles so that the timing chain and turbo are always lubricated with fresh oil. Keep it well maintained and it will serve you well.
