Default Adding Adaptive Xenon Headlights w/ LED Post-Manufactured Date

Hello All!

I've been lurking these threads quite a bit, and am about to purchase a 2019 XE 25t Prestige. I found a decent price on one, but it doesn't have the Adaptive Xenon Headlights w/ LED Signature. Can a Jaguar dealership add them to the car or will it void the warranty. There's another Prestige model with the lights that cost approximately $9k more, and I'm having a hard time justifying it especially considering the current state in the economy.

Any feedback is most appreciated!

Not a question I can answer, although I would have thought it is possible, but at what cost ? These front lights are very expensive, and can be nearly £1000 as I understand it ! Are you sure you can't make the extra dosh for the other car ? I suppose you could sell the old units on E-bay to compensate a bit.

I raised this with a dealer and with a genuine parts supplier about 2 years ago and they both told me there is no upgrade kit to perform this conversion.

You would need the headlamp units, a new front bumper with the integrated headlamp washers, and the level sensors which are located in the wheel arches.

I think the headlamp wiring loom may be different and i think you need to buy ballasts although i can't remember clearly. Im not sure if there may be other parts required. I would suspect although cant confirm that the car configuration file would need to be modified.

The combination above probably makes it cost prohibitive for a professional conversion. I think it still might be possible as a DIY however.

P.s. i read a comment on here that a member converted his headlamps to the new all LED headlamp units. Ive not come across these myself but the owner claimed the only modification required were some resistors to increase current draw and fool the diagnostics which would otherwise report a bulb failure.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I think I may just have to negotiate for the model with the headlights then. It's quite more complex than I thought it would be to replace the headlights on the cheaper model. For some reason I thought it'd be as easy as switching out the headlights and that'd be it. For DIY, I'm not that handy, and I'd hate to give the dealer any room to wiggle out of any electrical issues in the future if I worked on the car myself.
