I really dont understand the quiet criticism of the XE cabin. I find the A4 cabin pretty awful, the 3 series looks 80's, and the Benz looks great in pictures but not so great in the flesh, with odd gear placement. And dont get me started on the column shift (oh dear) and the ipad glued to the dash. The curve at the bottom of the centre stack is very pretty, but the XE is more functional with a place for your phone there.

My favorite cabin was the first gen XF which was a beautiful blend of luxury and functionality (mine was ivory, oyster, and walnut), but I find the XE to be a very pleasant place to be, even in black on black, and especially at night.

The one thing that is odd or novel is low air vents on the dash. Front seats are the most comfortable of the three Jag's I have owned.

I had to google 'spruiked'.

I am with you, BrucetheQuail, I wouldn't swap an interior from any of Audi/MB/BMW for the one I have. The etch'o'sketch SatNav is an especially poor piece of design.
