Default Boot lid not fully opening

Hello all, recently bought a 2021 XE S to replace my 2017 XE R-Sport. My only niggle with this car compared to my 2017 one is when pressing the key button to open the boot. So, on my old car, when I would press the button on either the key or near the steering wheel, the boot lid would spring completely open. However on my new one, it seems to just open a couple of inches and you've got to fully open it the rest of the way by hand. I have tried adjusting the rubber grommets at each side of the boot lid but nothing has really changed. Every now and again, the boot does fully open up when pressed however it's not as often as I'd like. Does anyone have any ideas of what to try to rectify this issue? I should state that it isn't the powered boot lid and just the spring loaded one. Thanks for any help!

Did you old XE have the powered boot lid ? Reason I ask is it is very unusual for a boot lid with gas struts to fully open when the latch is pressed. None of my cars have ever done that, and we have a VW New Beetle, and MG TF and a Merc SLK. With all these the lid just moves up slightly and one lifts the lid by hand. On the other hand, by 2017 XE has t he power boo lid that goes right up when the boot release is pressed, and powers down when the bootlid close button is pressed.
