Fully agree, mosesbotbol. Several makers produce impressive colors for their cars, but Jaguar is one of the makers whose colors from time to time are Ultra-impressive.
Regardless of whether the wandering masses of car owners catch notice of what a fine color you've produced on a certain year... KEEP the color around for a while, to give them more time to recognize it.

OOOHH, my years of "using the back seat" have passed, I'm afraid.
...Now, she'll touch my elbow and smile, I'll lean the right way,...three separately unrelated places in my spine go POP, and the firemen will have to ruin my moonroof trying to lift me out of the back seat.

I think we can blame the red on Ferrari, who associated the red with "Fast" forever.
My point on the Alphas is that the Gulia and that Gulia-based SUV are the most direct competition to the XE and F-Pace, they are very very similar and target the same buyer (sport/ performance).
BMW is also hitting the red sport color pretty hard too...really attempting to attract the younger driver.

BMW also likes the red in the commercials. Pretty amazing drift dance in this video.

Point is...red looks fastest.

They never used red on the XK, just silver and French Blue if memory serves, but red with F Type (and white). I believe Jaguar had a different advertising firm as well as less money. Tata bought JLR for LR and Jaguar as something they got for extra at the time. Both are excelling. I hope the level of promotion JLR and Alfa does is paying off. Jaguar is in a unique position and big time in FCA's cross hairs. Jaguar competes directly with Alfa and Maserati; where the German marques are for the vanilla buyer.
