Default Coolant Type 2018 Jaguar Xe 25t AWD 1997cc engine

I have a 2018 Jaguar XE 25t AWD 2.0L with 1,997 cc engine. Anyone know what Coolant I can put in it? I will drain the radiator and add new coolant so NOT a complete flush. Need something compatible with what coolant is in there from the factory. Name brands and type would be helpful. I'm in the US ..... not sure if that matters? Maybe a complete flush in a couple years? Thanks in advance, AJ

A quick search on Autozone website returned this:

PEAK Antifreeze/Coolant European Pink 50/50 Premixed 1 Gal. (autozone.com)

Hi AvalonJohn,

Like lusor, I've also been using the orange Dex-cool stuff in mine. I use the Zerex brand from Valvoline. I've had my XE from new and it came with orange coolant.

Amazon Amazon

Seemed to line up "close enough" to the Jag stuff to not concern me and the price was much better.

Jaguar JLM209723 Coolant: Monoethylene Glycol, Sodium 2-Ethylhexanoate, Passes ASTM D3306, Boiling point 50% mixture 226 Def F.
Valvoline Dex-Cool Orange OAT: Monoethylene Glycol, Diethylene Glycol, Potassium 2-Ethylhexanoate, Meets or exceeds ASTM D3306, Boiling point 50% mixture 265 Def F.

It also states on the back it states "Recommended" for use in Jaguar.

All thanks for your reply.

I did a ton of research on this. Looks like unless you're doing a complete flush, Pentosin Pentofrost SF is a really good choice as it says on the bottle it meets Jaguars STJLR.651.5003 requirement and is an OAT coolant like the genuine Jaguar coolant. It is a concentrate so it must be mixed with Distilled or Soft water. For a Complete Flush best coolant would be Zerex G40 which is an Si-OAT. I didn't feel comfortable mixing the two, Si-OAT and OAT. When I do a full flush I'll use the Zerex G40 as it has some anti-corrosive additives that OATs don't have. It apparently was made because they found some corrosive problems with OATs and developed the Si-OAT coolant to solve them.

Thanks AJ

AJ,

Thanks for sharing research on this. I wasn't aware of the development of the Si-OAT to address problems with the OAT. I'll probably make the switch to the Zerex G40 on the next flush too.
