Default Depreciation on an XE

I'm wanting to know what a possible depreciation on a 2017 XE next year since it'll be at least one model year and possibly two years old. If someone can guide me on where to look for a chart, I would appreciate it. I've already done some searching, but unable to locate exactly what I want.
A 2018 would be over budget, I'm trying to keep it in the low $40,000 (lower would be better) range. Trying to keep it at a 35t model

In a few months the lease is up on my wife's 2015 Altima. She hates dealers so much that I will be the one to find and lease a new car.
She still has some hatred towards Jaaags since a very bad experience on a lease turn in in June 2012. Going to a different dealer will help.
Thank you in advance for any assistance..

You can get a used 2017 35t now for about $45k. There some dealer loaner cars advertised at that. So I don't think you will have any problem next year. Probably less than $40k at that point.

If you're planning to lease, then why do you care about depreciation?

We're looking for a new car.

I'm thinking that a '17 will have it's first year depreciation factored in to get me started on a lower sell price for price negotiations. My negotiation skills are quite rusty, since I've not used them in a while.
I see some XF's on cars.com that are advertised with big price discounts and hoping an XE will follow.
Example: a $44,500 list price should drop to around $38k-39k or so..

Think I mis-stated my intent.
Start over. I'm looking for the ..residual value...for a 1 year old XE for leaseing.
Hypothetical case merely for illustration only:
Agreed upon lease price $45,000..(excluding all other fees and costs)
Residual price for 1 year..$xx,xxx (assume 25% for illustration)
(Residual values for 3 year leases are approx. 55-60% of start value.)
That brings the $45,000 down to $33,750 for a start value.

Am I wishfull thinking or????

I'm trying to get back into a Jaag and if the above could happen for a 2017 XE or (possibly an XF) I should be able to do it.
As some of us know, in life, sh..t happens work wise which is why I have to go low cost or stay with a Nissan which I really don't want to do.

Your'e probably in the ballpark I think. I hope that you weren't one of the many in CA directly affected by the fires. I know some lost it all.

They are likely to go on KBB, and use your specific mileage on your leased car in the process. I'd start there.

Thank you, but we've not been affected by these fires, they're at least 50 + miles away from us. We did get a bit of the wind though, worse this year than in the past.

KBB it is, almost forgot about them

You'll never get a good lease rate on any used car over 500 miles. Your best bet on a lease is something that has been on the lot the longest. Sometimes Jaguar offers special programs on leases. Presidents Day would be an ideal time for one those. If you are leasing new, check nationally if you want a certain spec XE. Your local dealer is going to give you the same service no matter where you bought it.

It sounds you would actually be best taking over someone's lease, but as far as I know that is not possible with Jaguars due to Chase. But why don't you try to lease a new one? Finding a used one to lease will not be easy. For a 57k dollar XE I'm payig 20k over 3 years taxes included.

Good luck,

Good luck,

It will have to be a new car, but convincing her towards a Jag will be difficult. I want to go back to Jag, but......
Don't think taking over an existing lease will do it..

I got mine at 38k with lease incentives down from 44k. I'll be paying about 12k leaving a 26k residual in 3 years.

So in late 2020 the car will be worth 26k used with about 36k miles on it, or so the dealer estimates.

Thank you, this info gives me hope, looks like the 3 year cost is within my (our) limits..
