I’m asking because a few months ago I paid $300 dollars for the dealership to update my system to the Smart Phone Package so I could get CarPlay. Now I’m seeing this new update for free. People on social media are telling me they got CarPlay for free but when I called my dealer they told me ( very rude I might add) that this update will not give you CarPlay if you didn’t already have it. And the only way anyone would’ve had it was by paying the dealership the $300. Now at this point there’s nothing else I could do. This is what they told me and what can I do about it? But there’s gotta be some official document stating whether it give you CarPlay or not. THANKS.

 

Yes, it does. I updated mine last over the air, and now I have both android auto and apple car play.

 

My dealer waived the $300 fee when I did this in June.

 

Is there any kind of proof documents so I could show them? Thanks.

damn, guess I should have paid attention to the XE forum as well as XK8 - going to have to see if I can get this 19B upgrade!!!! Interesting thing is I've had the car since new in 2017 and never received any notification about it
