Jaguar XE imagined by Virtuel-Car
If the new Jaguar XE looks like this, sign me up.
from the article:
After Jaguar reveals its upcoming entry-level luxury sedan at the Paris Motor Show in October, it will enter a very crowded and extremely competitive market segment. Aimed at the likes of the Audi A4, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW 3 Series, the new Jag is expected to hit the market in 2015.

I think that the XE is going to have to depart somewhat from the XF. Ultimately the XF has been around since 2008 and is in line for a refresh, so the XE should look like what the refreshed XF will look like. Not that I think that the XF isn't gorgeous as it is, it started and remains a truly lovely car.

I thought Callum said it wasn't going to be radical though. Anyway I'm guessing it'll have thinner tail-lights like the F-Types, but instead of the "circle" cutout it'll have more of a square kink like the C-X17's. What I'm really interested in is the interior. I've never really cared for 4-cylinder engines but maybe this will change that.

Looks good, no wait, it looks GREAT!
Don't worry too much about the 4-cylinder thing. If they use the existing 2.0L as seen in the RR Evoque, LR2 and the XF (and even XJ in some markets) it's just as powerful as the old 3.0L V6 (actually a little better).
240HP @ 5500rpm
250 lb/ft @ 1850rpm
That's enough to move a lightweight alloy-chassis along nicely.

Well, all Jaguars models after the F-Type are supposed to contain some F-Type ques in them according to Jaguar so I see a hint of that in the rear tailights. If it looks anything like these photos I might have to seriously consider getting one. i'll be eagerly waiting for the finish product.

Which saloon is coming after the XE--new XJ or XF?

XF, because they need to convert it over to a majority of aluminum. They can update the style at the same time.

Well put, I expected something completely different too. But it's pretty amazing considering it's really an updated S-Type. Especially the interior. I'd never seen anything like it. My point is that the XF was the start of the Callum era (XK notwithstanding) and a huge departure from Geoff Lawson's saloons (X-Type, S-Type, X350 XJ).
