Knocking sound - XE diesel automatic
Hello everyone, new member here.
I need help identifying an issue on my XE 2.0 diesel (180PS), automatic trans.
After a drive, when I stop the car, I can hear a knocking sound coming from the left hand side of the car under the hood. It sounds like it's coming from somewhere behind the front left wheel. The sound is only present when car is stationary or at very low speed. I have also noticed that if the engine is on and the car is stationary, the noise changes as I flip through gears. For example, the clunking sound is very noticeable when gearbox is in reverse, slightly less noticeable when in neutral and not present at all when in drive. I have attached an audio file so you can listen to it.
Any ideas as to what the issue might be would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Yeah, a failed engine mount is kinda disappointing at only 68k miles. Hope the other one holds up. The autoshop actually had no problem getting the original replacement part, it was expensive though.
