Lease buy?
So the lease on my XE is up in June. I really like the car and am considering just buying it. Obviously I can just buy it at the residual, but wanted to see if anybody else had luck negotiating a better deal. Maybe buying at less than residual or getting a warranty or something along that line? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
The buy back price is a joke and they won't negotiate. Our car is being returned in June as well. JLR did absolutely nothing to keep us in another JLR product. We really wanted Velar or Evoque convertible (both were on the lot), but dealer wouldn't knock off $50 on the cars and said we had to eat 2 of the last 5 months on the lease. They said JLR does nothing to keep customers in another JLR.
Went to Volvo and they paid my last five months of the lease and offered an XC60 at an attractive price. Really disappointed with JLR. Don't think I would ever buy another JLR product new.
If you do keep the XE, you'll have like $1500 in servicing that needs to be done. I think you'll be better off returning the car and repeating on a new leased vehicle instead. XF sportbrakes they are discounting big time.
