Question Looking for 9500ci or STiR plus install photo...specifically flushmounted in grille

Greetings all,

I am pretty sure I saw a photo on this forum where an XE or XF owner flush- mounted their radar receiver and two jammers to the front face of the grille after some careful dremel work. Because the grille is black they almost disappeared to the eye.

This would be a superior method to positioning the jammers and receivers vs behind a metal grille...mainly for off center performance and distance for alerts. And they would not be as prominent and visible as mounting these entirely in front of the grille.

Can any of you provide the link for the Picture I am referring to? It was a good stealth install, and I'd like to copy it some....installing the 9500ci soon...i think it was a gloss black grill.

yes, i tried multiple searches before posting.

Thanks!

Enjoy It isn't a StIR+ though - it's a Radenso HD+

Default XE Netradar and ALP Install

So i stole ololly's idea, and completed my Netradar and ALPriority defense system Installation in the front of my XE. Although I went with only two LED units thinking that there was not much Laser yet in Texas...(boy was I wrong).

Come to find out all the APD Motorcycle LEO's use laser, and my pair of LEDs does the job just fine, I don't miss the third LED some people get for up there.

I blew by a trap and the laser defense signal went off...I looked over and there was the LEO, had me dead to rights at 30 over! (He pointed the laser gun at me like he was shooting skeet! I was passing a slower vehicle and came within 50 feet of the gun. he was on shoulder , I was in the right lane going downhill of course.)

Anyhow, he did not come up with a read on me, and I got no ticket.

I've been hit four or five more times with laser signal since then (and a few KA hits in the country...I slow down fully for those)...each time speeding some, and each time I drive right on by. This system is AWESOME! I laugh in the general direction of Laser now!

The Netradar unit works reall well, I love the GPS signal lockouts.

Got two rear LED's and another NETRADAR for the rear in my Christmas Basket, then I'll have 360 detection and laser coverage.

Totally recommend this ALP system, I think it was well worth the effort and expense. At 1/2 the price of the Max 360 Escort system that sells for $2900.00. Five Stars for sure!

My issue is that in New England, HP uses those laser guns that keep an aim at you but only shoot when the trigger is pressed.

I think the only way to avoid those is to have laser jammers.

But the worst part is that coppers often hide behind the bridges and trees and if you are driving significantly faster that the rest of the traffic, they will still chase you and pull you over. I have seen this happen numerous times. I am not sure how they would cite you since they have no speed reading but still, being pulled over is a big waste of time.

Austin7 - you system looks great and seems to work for you. I am glad that you did not get a ticket. What is it in Texas 85 speed limit and everyone drives 100-105 or something? I wish that was the case in MA.

They could match speed while chasing you, note the speed at which they must drive to stay a given distance behind you, and cite that speed against you.

The ALP system will automatically "scramble" the laser guns readout, by resetting itself for a preset period of time. So it does not broadcast a fake speed back to the gun, but it will "confuse" the LEO's readout for however long you set the scramble. Effective as heck...its the best laser system available.

The ALP system even has a unidentified signal "capture" capability so if new codes on guns are introduced, you can add the specific signal to the master database through a USB port.

The alp is the one that defeats "Dragoneye" laser guns, which is what I believe you are referring to.

I dont haul butt all the time, but in that one instance I was doing like 85 in a 55, on a highway, at the bottom of a hill. The laser was an instant on type.

Most long Tx tolls out here are 80 to 85 mph posted, I don't regularly "cruise" at over the 100 mark, most traffic will do 85 to 95.

Texas DPS also has planes...nothing you can do against those! They use visual markers and a stopwatch to time you, no hiding form that.

But there are towns in Texas that are notorious for unfair speedtraps, to get funds for their municipalities. To the point where the state has called for a stop to the practice in some cases.

You seem to know all the ins and outs of that system

Could you please tell me what is the total cost of that type of system and how time consuming the installation is?

I used to have Escort 8500ix which worked very well but it does not work with XE's heated windshield...

I usually drive fast at night. Less traffic and less risk to get caught.

I did a lot of research before I decided on the ALP and Netradar, IMHO its the best system out there, and I'm not alone.

Go here, and you can play around with the configurator to get a system configured with the modules you need.

I got the parking system with two lasers, the NETRADAR (included GPS), and had it professionally installed by a Jaguar Gold Certified technician so that none of my other jaguar electronics are tapped into or interfered with.
This also ensured all the wires were routed and wrapped properly.

he charged me an incredibly reasonable $600.00, and will install the rear units for another $300.00 when I get them. He asked for two days to get the job done. This included the custom grille work.

You start with a parking system here:

AL Priority - The Best Multipurpose Parking System Available

and use the configurator to build and price.

My system ran around $1400.00 or so with the addition of the NETRADAR, HI-FI speaker, and bluetooth module.

Did I mention that you get a directional readout and signal strength indication when you pair with a Smartphone or Iphone?
