Default Looking at an early XE - any issues?

Hi folks, just joined the forums and I have been looking into getting my first Jag for a couple of months. I am leaning towards an XE, probably an earlier example (2015-16 ish).

Always heard that models earlier in the production run have more issues that get ironed out in later production runs as designs get refined, has anyone with an early XE found any particular issues or gremlins?

I'm probably going for an automatic diesel if that makes a difference.

Thanks, appreciate any help!

Hi! They had a few "campaigns" (where things were fixed during servicing) which were mainly for infotainment I think. Otherwise, we have had our 25T since November 2015 (which was a few months after they first arrived in Oz) and it has been faultless.

From reading the XE section in the JEC magazine, the early problems were with electronics so there was a fairly large program of software mods, but the mechanicals are mostly bulletproof. I have sat in one, and find the interior rather bland, as if the engineers didn't have any real enthusiasm for the project, but then I have got an X350 which has the wonderful traditional Jaguar interior. Exterior-wise they are difficult to recognise, being so similar to the XF.

The handling of the XE really sets it apart in the Jaguar line up. XJ350 was the pinnacle of design inside and out of traditional Jaguar styling. Still a beautiful car today. Been hard to convince my wife to get another one.

We pick up my wife's XE R-Sport tomorrow.

I gave up trying to convince my wife. On anything.

My wife is digging the Evoque Convertible as am I. There are none locally to test drive though.
