Default Mute switch?

Does the XE have a mute switch, whether software or physical? Suddenly I get no sound from the radio, from a Bluetooth phone call, or from the InControl navigation.

Any advice would be appreciated.

My XE goes silent sometimes... when it does it, I just turn the volume up and the volume will increase from zero as if something has turned it all the way down. It happens to me maybe once a week or once a fortnight, and I'm not sure what causes it.

I don't have a physical mute button, and I don't remember seeing one in the menus.

Default Mute switch?

This was the second time the sound has completely disappeared from my XE. Just like the first time, the car then sat overnight, engine and accessories off, and all sound returned when I started the engine the next morning.

Perhaps the car has a poltergeist?

Google "cosmic ray bit flipping" if you want to learn about actual poltergeists in electronics, it's very interesting and a bit terrifying at the same time.

Next time it does it, try just turning the volume knob up. Mine seems to be random but I think it tends to happen between drives, i.e. I'll pull into the garage with the music going, turn the car off, come back out the next morning and it's on 0. It doesn't happen often enough for me to know for sure though, so I'll try to remember to pay more attention to it for a while..

I tried that last night. It didn’t work. It was like the car had no speakers at all.

But this morning, the radio came on as soon as I started the engine.

I've had this issue a handful of times with my infotainment system, i think it's a glitch in the ITC Pro system, a system restart will clear this issue.
