I guess not many people visit this section - or just don't care or have an opinion?

Or there are already multiple threads, and the information has mostly been the same for the past few months.

I am very interested. That's what I'm looking for at this moment.

Hi Mark
Have a read here: -

Jaguar XE: price, pictures, specs & release date of the new baby Jag | Auto Express

Basically, the car is all-aluminium like the XJ, XK, and F-type models, but with a new engine range based on 4 cylinder engines, both petrol and diesel more suited to the smaller size of the car. These will be built in a new factory in Wolverhampton about 80 miles south of where I live. They are totally new designs not based on Ford units or anybody else's either.

I have no doubt there will also be a V6 and high power versions, but the big sellers will be the "cooking" versions, at least here in Europe, anyway. This is due to the very high cost of running large engine cars here. Style is similar to the XF saloon. Once the XE is on sale, the only steel-bodied car will be the XF saloon, and it will also be aluminium when it is replaced.

An all-aluminium SUV is also in development for introduction some time in 2016 or 2017. Jaguar will then completely cover the up-market segment.

The XE is a car I will certainly be interested in owing a few years down the line as a used car. As an impecunious retired railwayman money has to be carefully spent.
