Default New Owner of 2017 XE

I just joined the Jaguar Club, with the purchase of a 2017 Jaguar XE 3.0 SC AWD Premium Addition. It has 83k miles, 1 owner with a good service history and clear CarFax. The water pump was replaced by the dealership before I bought it, and the oil changed right before they bought it from auction at 82,900. I'm still in the honeymoon phase with the purchase, but I am starting to worry some, as I know there can be some issues the more miles they have. I've seen some other threads for advice on this model, but I just wanted to know if there was anything else I may need to be aware of, or know in general, as a new Jaguar XE owner. I am also pretty interested in getting a performance chip, or upgrading the vehicle some in general, and would like to maybe customize the badge and wheel covers, and need to be steered in the right direction. I'd like to have a yellow background on the badge instead of the red (personal preference really) but I haven't been able to find any badges like that.

If you are worried about the high mileage of your car, as long as it's properly maintained you don't have to worry. You seldom see a Jaguar vehicle with more than 150K miles. Here in the states, majority of Jaguar owners never use their cars as a daily driver. For most it's a week end car. But I've seen a lot of Land Rovers with the same engine your Jaguar has with more than 150K miles on it. My only advise, do a short OCI (oil change interval) of every 5,000 miles and you'll get to the 200K mile mark and even more. It's easy to do an oil change, if you have an oil extractor OCI can be done in less than 30 minutes. Don't follow Jaguar's extended OCI or whatever the owner manual's states.

Good advice! I actually was looking into getting an oil extractor to do the job myself. With the oil filter up top, it just makes sense IMO. Saves a good bit also.

If you do it every 5,000 miles OCI, you don't need the Jaguar required/approved synthetic oil. Mobil1, Castrol or Pennzoil synthetic will do the job. Jaguar approved synthetic oil are required if you do an "extended" OCI. Use only the best top tier brand synthetic motor oil for your car. The coolant in your car supposed to be orange. it is DexCool
