Default Park brake fault after changing rear pads

HI I just changed the rear pads and followed a youtube video where they removed the parking brake electric motor and manually turned the splined shaft and pressed the caliper back in. After I reassembled everything I am getting a park brake fault, and ideas? 2020 XE P250

Thanks

Hmm, I'm about to have my 2018 rear pads replaced, and someone has mentioned the parking brake calibration in a recent brake thread. On the F-type, there's a procedure of button pressing to put the electric parking brake (EPB) into maintenance mode (i.e. retracted), but I haven't seen something similar for the XE, yet.

It actually cleared itself today aftwrva few drives. Pads were very easy to change, dealer wanted $1000 just for the rear.

Hey about to do mine today, I ordered some EBC rotors and Pads but do not have the rotors yet, so I am REALLY in need of some rear brakes so I bought a cheap set from autozone (this cheapest set actually was the only one to come with the spring hardware clips AND WEAR SENSORS. for like 50 bucks front and back. I was like wtf hella value lmaooo the wear sensors paid for themselves. But these will be temporary pads on the old rotors until dec when I get my new rotors in and can put those on with the new performance pads. So I will probably take back the OEM wear sensors as those 2 alone paid for the "cheap" brakes that already have those with it. lmao

anyway, any weird things? where did you put the jack stand? also, do you know what torque specs for the wheels and the calipers??? I could not find the torque specs?

How long did it take you. And I agree firestone alone wanted 1800 and it was 450 per AXLE LABOR ONLY from the dealer, didn't even bother checking on part costs. Forget the fact hey are not available on saturdays, never able to get a hold of. Not worth ever going to a dealer, idc how rich you are. lmao It's just plain inconvenient.

really all I expect it to be is:

Parking break maint mode (buttons, not scanner??)
jack up and jack stands
wheel off
then like 2 bolts on caliper and thats it?
reverse?

But do you need a pad spreader? Can you spread them by hand? do you need the caliper tool to rotate the calipers? 2017 XE prestige. AWD. here.

AFAIK you do need to wind back the rear caliper pistons to fit the new thicker pads - you can't just push them back in. So you'll need some sort of wind back tool with pegs that engage with the recesses in the piston. You can get universal ones with adjustable peg spacing.
The procedure for putting the electronic parking brake into released service mode is:· Turn ignition on first but don’t start engine.

· Hold EPB switch in "off" position for two seconds, then, keeping it pressed, floor the accelerator for two seconds.

· Holding both in the same position, toggle ignition off then on rapidly - EPB goes to "service" or "maintenance" mode.

· Turn ignition off and replace pads.

· To reset - do the same thing but holding the EPB switch in the "on" position.

i replaced the rear pads and had it in service mode but i cant get it out even with a tool, tried the manual way which didnt work, i tried the battery trick, and the parking brakes just flashes now. ive been trying to figure out if i did something wrong, i did turn the pistons to open them so i could get the new pads in and then turned them back. i have another tool i was going to try tomorrow,. is there something ive missed?

Here’s how the electric parking brake (EPB) works, including enabling/disabling maintenance mode. Hope it helps.
