I picked up this 3m Red Pinstripe molding for $20 at Autozone, and added a little flair to my splitter. I personally like the look, its subtle from a distance and aggressive looking when you get up on it. What led me to this? https://automobiles.honda.com/civic-type-r
The molding will help prevent bump scratches on the splitter, and the kit had length to do like three more if it tears. It also extends the splitter by about 1/8th inch, for what it's worth...Would love to get opinions, good or bad!
It's light weight trim and adhesive made for affixing to the exterior of the car, so unless I crash into it or tear at it I'd expect it to last until I took it off. It is really good adhesive!
I was pleased how it seemed to be a color match to the Growler Logo. Even the wife, who was very against it at first, admitted it looked great after all. :-)
I've kind of done the opposite on my cars - the 2 jags are red so I wrapped the sills black but left the edge red.
But on my daughter's Mazda (white) we put on skirts and spoliers (black) and I did as you have - a bead around the edge, but in white. It gives it all better definition, looks pretty good.
