Default Removing coolant with pump before replacing pipes?

Hi gang, I’ve ordered the metal coolant pipe replacement kit from Euro Amp and even though the process is well-documented, I had a couple questions. First, instead of pulling the cover off the bottom and draining the coolant, would it be fine to just pump it out of the reservoir? If so, could I add the same coolant back in one I’m done? I have the tools and kit, but anything else I’d need to order before tackling it?

I’d suggest posting your question in this big thread on the F-type forum, lots more traffic than the XE forum. Same engine.
