Service intervals
Hi guys I have an 2019 xe p300 petrol 2.0L turbo. After initial service of 12 months The service book says 43000klns for service or 3 years
it sounds crazy and up until now every car I had change oil and filters every 15000 and plugs etc every 30000 or as indicated. Am I missing something with the jaguar technology? Any assistance would be appreciated.

Yes the Jaguar service interval of 2yrs/20000 miles, whichever comes first is, IMO, far too long. I suspect it has been set to please fleet managers who can probably sell on their cars at 2 yrs without having to have any service done at all.
I think the maximum interval for an engine oil and filter change should be 1yr/10,000 miles, when a general safety check can also be done. My own practice is to change the oil and filter every 5,000 miles - I look upon it as good insurance - even Jaguar spec engine oil is cheaper than a new engine after a few years, which can cost as much as the car is worth.

Hi All...Firstly thank you all for the feedback. Very much appreciated. You have all confirmed as I thought. I will be servicing every 15,000klms, My cars in the past have always had this kind of love.
You will get a lot of opinions regarding about oil change interval on this forum. But I do mine every 5K miles OCI (My MAX is 7.5K miles OCI only if I travel out of state.). It's a 2.0T petrol/gas. It has Turbo, so it always need fresh lubricants. You don't need a Jaguar approved oil recommendation for your vehicle if you are doing a short OCI. I buy the best top tier brands (like Castrol, Mobil1, Pennzoil or Valvoline) full synthetic 0W-20 motor oil which ever any one is on sale.
I always look if it says ACEA A1/B1 C5 approval at the back of the plastic bottle. Be careful when buying online, there are fake motor oil & oil filters being sold. Buy only in reputable outlets & auto parts stores.
