Hi,

I have an XE R-Sport with AWD and noticed that occasionally during quick acceleration from stop/low speed there is a weird rumbling/creak sound that comes from the rear (possibly more to the right side). It is more noticeable especially when turning onto a road from a stop and pulling away. It clears up after a couple of seconds, and after that the car drives beautifully. Has anyone else experienced this? I know there is an issue with the F-Pace (same parts, so probably on the XE too), but not sure if it's related to acceleration.

Anyone else had this happen? It is a North American left hand drive model.

 

I would have thouht that rear suspension parts between the two cars were not the same given that the F-Pace is potentially an off roader (ha!). As far as I know the creaking suspension issues on the F-Pace were resolved and there has not been the same wailing and insurrection from xe owners, so it's unlikely to the same issue anyways.

If it were suspension related I would have thought it would show more on uneven surfaces, and it is a well known fact that all American roads are 3,000 mile long pool tables anyway.

 

Probably should just take your car to the dealer and ask them about it. I don't notice it on my XE.

 

Does it happen when you accelerate straight or during cornering?

 

I have some rattling sound coming from the rear left every now and then when I drive pass uneven surface or small pitted holes on the road. It sounds like some loose screw. I took the car to the dealer and went for a drive. Thankfully the technician heard the noise too. I have booked my car for a thorough investigation in a couple of weeks' time.
