Currently my XE is riding on the standard Pirelli P7 Cinturato's (all seasons) that came with it. Ive been sort of happy with these tires but since I live in so cal no need for them at all. As its time to change them out I've been considering either the Pirelli P zero or Michelin Pilot sport 4 s (both summer tires). I was wondering if anyone changed from all seasons to summers and noticed a difference in grip or braking and also which between the summer tires works best with the XE. I do a combination of city and highway driving but do drive a little quicker than most people
Many of the F-Type owners here (me included) have swapped out the OEM P-Zeros for Michelin PS4S.
The difference is night and day, it's almost impossible to exaggerate how much better the MPS4S are.
What he said. Note the PS4S gets slippery below 40 degrees, otherwise a fantastic tire. I’ll change mine (on the F-type) this fall, at around 25k miles.
I just installed some 19” PS4S on my 17 35t XE and love them. The grip is fantastic and have had no trouble with potholes and in MN they are bad year round. These are for summer use only and I’ll be putting my 18”s back on the winter. I went with 19x8.5 all around and fit 255/35-R19 rubber with no rubbing although they are close. I don’t think I could go any bigger and there are literally no aftermarket wheel makers that made what I was looking for in staggered sizes. The wheels are MRR Design FS-01 Flow Forged wheels.
I did quite a bit of reading on this subject and opted for UHP summer tires -- knowing the ride would be not as great and that the tires will wear out faster.
But for me, grip/performance off the line was the most important... I ended up going a slightly more economical route with Falken Azenis FK510's and got Discount Tire to match Tirerack's prices. Spent just under $750 for all four installed, etc.
I haven't tried the others recommended in this thread, but I can say I'm super-happy with my decision thus far. Super grippy and my ride isn't that much noticeably different... but I don't drive long distances and I run it pretty hard and have just about everything you can do to this car... High flow cats, performance/lowered springs, VAP tune + Pulley...

I currently have the Azenis FK510 on my car, and frankly I find them lacking in the handling department, they are not as sticky as the original Pirellis' PZeros that came from the factory; you will notice they lack grip when taking high speed sweepers on the freeway. They offer a better ride than the Pirelli's but they don't last too long, the rear ones are almost worn out after just 10K miles.
PS4S is an outstanding tire - I have around 21k on my set on the F-type, will probably change around 25k, though I’m not as hard on tires as many on the F-type forum.
PS4S is the way to go. They are super sticky. Of course not if you are looking for a soft ride. They aren't harsh, but at the low profile sizes nothing is going to feel plush. I went through two sets of Pirellis and had nothing but trouble from both sets before making the switch to Michellins. My only comaint is that they will wear quickly...no way on god's green earth I would ever get 25k miles from one set...😆

Was actually happy to have to replace the OEM tires a couple of weeks ago. Unavoidable obstacle on the road and ended up with bubbles in the sidewall on two tires so was time to go! It gets just cold enough here that a full summer tire isn't the best idea if you need to drive somewhere in the winter so I went with the Continental DWS06. I know it's an all season, but it's a pretty good comprise. Right off was SUPER pleased on how much quieter they are the OEM tires. Grip is far improved as well as are cornering speeds and the tires only have a couple of hundred miles so far. Continental doesn't use the stiffest sidewall so they are still comfortable but offer decent sidewall protection.
Didn't feel the car needed a full summer tire so I'm happy with my choice.
(I realize wasn't the actual question, but thought my experience could be helpful for those searching for threads on tires.)
The Cintaurato's ride pretty nice, but are way too fragile. Would never recommend them after going through so many in 3 years. Any of the top tier summer tires will be pretty noticeable when pushed.
Hmm, had assumed I’d upgrade to DWS06 when the OEM ProContact GX wear out (next spring), but I see the DWS06 has a load index of 91. The XE specs a load index of 95 or higher. Not sure about that.
DWS06 is available in different load indexes. The ones on my car match the spec for the 3.5T RWD (93 and 96 I believe). If looking online, make sure to enter the vehicle and should give you the correct spec.
Hey everyone, I forgot to post an update to my original question. I have about 1700 miles on the PS4S's and am so glad I made the decision. However I live in southern california where all seasons are unnecessary. It has rained once since I got them, and in my opinion the grip is better even in the wet than the Pirelli all seasons. The grip in the dry is the most noticeable difference. Also, when hustling it on canyon roads, these tires give much more confidence because they are much more even and less squeally in curves. I can tell a small divot in ride quality, but the difference is minuscule. Thanks for the help!
I’ve had both the Pilot Sports and the Pilot Sport all seasons on my Jag. The Pilot Sport summer tires are drastically quieter and more comfortable, not to mention better handling.
PS4S’s are a good option in cooler climates. If you are in a warmer climate, go for the summer tire option!

I will be trying the Michelin PS4S next.
I have been dying to test out some PS4S since i only hear amazing things. and i know good tires are more important than any other mod for your car if you want better handling, traction etc.
but... i cant justify spending that much when something as little as a pothole has me out $700+ since i would always need to replace two tires.
PS4S vs the Pirellis is a no brainer since price is comparable yet the Michelins are undoubtedly the better performer.
Falken vs Pirellis is also a no brainer due to price difference and the fact that they are extremely similar in performance.
I went with the Falkens since my car is RWD and i drive it hard so the rears are gonna wear quick no matter what tire i choose....plus theres a million ways to blow a tire in the areas i drive most (downtown fort lauderdale and miami). Even if it doesn't blow, my alignment might go out and prematurely wear the tires that way. I'd much rather this happen on my cheaper Falkens than the Michelins.
So i'll sacrifice some performance vs the Michelins for the piece of mind that i can drive my car hard and replace the tires somewhat cheaply. I dont get many chances to really push my car in the turns super hard anyways. If i had lots of bendy, fun roads around, i might prioritize performance more.
