Tactile screens.
Just got my new XE, P250 R-Dynamic, in France. Only five months late minus the overhead simulated view which, evidently, required computer chips that Jaguar doesn’t have anymore.
Anyway, the question is: I ordered the lower tactile screen (between the temperature control buttons) and expected to get the same system as my previous XE where I could switch between phone and entertainment system, however, all this screen has is the heating/AC fan controls on permanent display. Previous car was bought second hand so didn’t order any options. Am I getting what I ordered/paid for or is this another, unexplained, missing accessories? What should I have ordered to get the display I expected?

It would be useful to see a picture of this tactile screen. My MY20 XE has this screen and I can switch it between HVAC, entertainment and phone displays by pressing the appropriate screen button at the top of the screen. I don't think any other version of this screen has been offered so it's very odd if you can't do this on your screen.
I see you've got this XE only 5 months late and with a petrol engine. That's actually very good at the moment given the shortage of electronic chips. Some people have reported quoted delivery times of 18 months and then had their orders cancelled after 12 months waiting, and currently Jaguar is only offering the diesel engine in the XE

My previous 2019 XE had the display you describe but my new 21/22 model doesn’t. I’m checking with the dealership when I get home next week. Trouble is the dealer in Limoges is rather useless. They don’t have much of an idea about anything technical. For example, on the previous XE, there was a slight but continuous coolant loss. Took them a day and a half to find the pressure cap was faulty!
I also expected to get the full virtual screen for speedometer and rev counter instead of the hybrid where part of the instruments is physical and part virtual. But from what you said, I’m lucky to get any car at all. By-the-way, the dealer said my previous P250 was one of only four in France - now, I guess, my new one is one of five!
Yes, I saw that but the guide, particularly with my version of Piv-Pro, bears little resemblance to what’s actually in the car.. As I said, evidently I’m lucky to have the car at all! With the dark red it looks great and drives perfectly. Very pleased with it.
Hmm..it does seem that they have altered the lower screen quite a bit - and limited it to HVAC only. I suspect that you may have got the hybrid speedo and rev counter main instrument panel because the shortage of computer chips has made the fully virtual panel temporarily unavailable. These are annoying niggles but given the current supply situation I guess they're worth tolerating!
