I've noticed a couple times now, I have gotten in my car and started it to leave but the parking brake was set and I did not set it. Does the XE sometimes set this on its own for some reason?

 

The EPB should set automatically when the vehicle is in park.

 

Okay, so it automatically comes on when you put the vehicle in park? Should it automatically shut off when I start the car and select Drive? Or do I always have to press the brake and push the EPB switch?

 

No you just put it in drive and go. If you activate the EPB when you are in drive at a light for example it will release automatically when you push the throttle to pull away.

 

Okay, that makes sense. I was seeing PARK lit up and thought I had to manually release it by pressing the button. So next time I drive I'll just tap the throttle, it should shut off, and away I go. Thanks for the help.
