Default XE 20d R-Sport 180 - Brake discs and pad question

Hi All,

I need new rear brake discs and pads on my XE.

From getting some quotes the prices are all over the place from £420 to £310. What should I expect to pay?

Some mechanics are also asking if i have solid or vented discs, I have no idea. Can I choose to change?

Thanks for any advice.

Discs are vented, front and rear. Diameters of the rear discs are smaller than the fronts (front 316mm, rear 300mm). You can get cheap ones with no coating so they look doggy and rusty after a coouple of months, or more expensive ones that are coated. Jaguar OEMs are coated.

The above site also sells the pads, so you can work out the cost of parts, then there is the labour to replace. I don't know what the labour time would be, but would think about 1-1.5 hours a side. Labour time will include removing and replacing the wheels.
