Default 2016 XF oil Capacity

Greetings - Apparently I missed my free maint window for the year - thanks to covid I don't drive as much so my service needed info didnt come on until after my anniversary of purchase - The dealer would do the oil change but wanted to charge me 300 dollars. I can do it myself, used to my 2013- but I remember the amount of oil was odd for V6 AWD -

So I have a 2016 XF AWD Prestige - and 10 quarts of Castro Edge - how much do I put in ? is it 7.7?

My owners manual says 7.6 Qts. but I'm pretty sure the AWD takes one quart less. I've seen posts of overfills by a quart and they said it was because they had an AWD. I got an underfill by a quart on my RWD at one service and had to take it back. I'd do the 6.6 and check that the green fill bar in the dash goes all the way to the top line.

I bought an used 2016 XF and found the oil level display said overfilled. The Owner's Manual says don't drive it, serious damage may occur. It appeared to have been overfilled 5-6,000 miles earlier during a dealer service, so I had my mechanic suck out a quart.
I have the AWD model.
8 months later I got the dealer's warranty annual service oil change and the first thing I checked was the oil level, they had overfilled it.

I do not have the answer to your question. I say refill on the low side, check the gauge after waiting the 10 or 15 required minutes and then add some if needed to get it up to full.
If you put too much in there is a suction pipe in the middle of the filler opening, you don't have to underneath.
This is my first car with no dipstick and I find it spooky.
Report back when you determine the correct amount of oil.

I have a mityvac - 99 bucks off amazon - I can suck out the oil through the center part of the oil cap thingy.(I am so technical) my last car it was 6.6 I will go on the lower side and see what happens.

The 2016 X260 Owner's Handbook is far from precise. Although capacity is given as 7.6 US QT (7.25 Litres), a warning advises this is approximate!

My XK also doesn't have a dipstick. I've noticed that having the vehicle on the level is absolutely critical to an accurate reading with the electronic gizmo. Even a slight incline makes a big difference to the reading.

So I did my oil change yesterday. the Mightyvac pumped out approx 6.8L of oil - I added 7 quarts which is just about 6.8L I checked the fill level and while not 100% it was in the good range. I could top it off probably with 1/2 quart.
