2016 XF R-Sport: Texas, USA.
The headliner fabric in my 2016 XF has staretd to sag very badly. Per the description, it is listed as "Sedan, morzine cloth, jet" The headliner texture is like suede/velvet texture.
I took the car to a local auto upholstry shop for an estimate, but he does not have a fabric that matches the "charcoal" color of the headliner. His "Black" is much darker black and it makes the OEM headliner look like charcoal. It also does not have the same texture. Shop is willing for me to supply the fabric and he will install it.
I also founf Part: "Headliner - Jaguar (T2H2897PVJ)" which seems to be the entire headliner assembly and not just the fabric. The assembly is USD $2k, where as the headliner fabric & install is 25% of that cost.
Can anyone point me to the source of the fabric so I can have the shop replace it, or do I have to do the whole assembly?
Before you replace it check to see if there's a reason it's sagging. Water ingress? If the glue attaching the cloth to the headliner panel was bad maybe just color and reglue? Take out the headliner and check it out. You don't have to use Jaguar headliner material BTW..
Factory only sells the complete headliner, it's common for them to sag with age unfortunately, across many cars. The suede material is heavier and tends to happen sooner in hot/humid climates. I would get a close match material and have an outside shop replace it. Morzine usually means the cloth material, which is not what your car should have. It may have been listed as an option though and show the other material from a base car.
