Default 2016 XF S AC Problem

Hi All, I'm new to this forum and a new 2016 jaguar xf s owner (3 weeks). The AC in my car does not seem to function properly, i.e. it never gets very cold. On max AC the temp it the car is barely adequate. Do others have this issue? I would assume that my car should be cold and that I would need to turn down the AC after running it on max AC for a while, but that's not the case.

I brought to the dealer today and they are claiming it was settings, but I don't see any change since getting it back.

I had some issues with my vehicle and found you need to shut off the auto start-stop to get the system to function properly. When there is a load on the A/C the stop start function is alleged to be disabled but I found it still needs the switch be off. Incidentally, my stop-start has never worked from day one, even though the dash indicator will state when it is turned off or on. I love not having it work! But still tap the off button when in slow traffic or when it's hot.

Also, if you have the 4 zone climate control, be sure the rear air fan is not on high (Preferably off) and set the rear to a higher temperature than the front if you like. You can sync the temps but as far as I can tell that only syncs the front.

All the above said, I don't think the performance of the A/C on the Jag is on par to many other cars that will freeze you out in 100 degree temperatures.

I would go right back to the dealer, sit with the technician in the car and say 'show me how this works' and make sure it gets cold inside before you leave.

+1 on getting all over the dealer's back.

My R-Sport has handled the 95+ degree days around here just fine, cools down pretty quickly, and a routine setting of 71 (usually) or 70 degrees does it. I do not disable the autostart function; the vehicle either doesn't shut down or it will auto restart prematurely to handle the load of the A/C, and that's usually enough to keep me comfortable.

Actually I've had the same problem with the a/c on my 16 XFS. Brought it to the dealer who stated they have seen many cars coming from the factory about 100 grams low on refrigerant. A/C works fine now.

Thanks everyone for your replies. My car is scheduled to evacuated and refilled with refrigerant next week. Hopefully it takes care of the problem.
